How Al-Dahabi Campaign collects, uses, and protects your data.
Last updated: September 2026
This page explains, plainly, what Al-Dahabi Campaign collects about visitors, donors, and registered users of this site, why, how long we keep it, and who it might be shared with. This describes what the site actually does, not a generic template — if the site changes, this page changes with it.
What we collect
- When you create an account or sign in: your name and email address, your profile photo if you sign in with Google or Facebook, and your phone number if you add it later.
- When you donate: your name, email, and phone number (optional if you're not signed in), the amount, currency, and project you chose, the transfer reference number or receipt photo you upload as proof of payment, and any note you write with it.
- When you contact us through the site's form: your name, email, phone (optional), and the text of your message.
- Limited technical data recorded automatically with any donation or message: your IP address and the time it was sent, to protect the system from abuse, not to track you.
Why we collect it
- To confirm your donation and issue a receipt in your name, and send it to you.
- To manage your account and remind you of your monthly pledge if you've subscribed to one.
- To respond to your message or help request.
- For accounting requirements: we must be able to show where every lira we receive came from and where it went.
- To prevent fake donations or misuse of the site's forms.
How long we keep it
We keep your account data for as long as it stays active, and contact messages until we close your request and for a reasonable period after, in case a similar question comes up.
The donation record itself — the amount, date, and project — is never deleted, even if you delete your account: it is the campaign's financial ledger, and we need it for auditing and transparency toward donors and regulators. What changes when you delete your account is the link between that record and your name: it is separated from you and afterward treated as a donation that carries no identity.
Who we share your data with
Google and Facebook sign-in
If you choose to sign in with Google or Facebook, we receive only your name and email address from them to create your account and link it to your account there — we do not share your data back with them after that.
Email provider
We use an email (SMTP) provider to send sign-in links, donation confirmations, and receipts to your inbox.
Payment methods
There is no automated payment processor today that receives your card details — we never ask for or see your card number. Donations are made by direct bank transfer or through Syriatel Cash or MTN Cash wallets, and our team confirms them manually within 24 hours from the operation number or receipt photo you upload.
Your rights
- See the data linked to your account and ask us to correct it if it's wrong.
- Delete your account at any time from the account deletion page — this separates your name and email from your donation record as explained above under retention.
- Revoke Google or Facebook sign-in access directly from your account settings with them, at any time.
